When will Little Mix get the justice they deserve?
Happy Succession Day! Apologies for the late issue but the timing works out really well because we are only a couple of hours away from the premiere of season three of Succession and Hannah brings you all of the Succession coverage (or most of it because there is A LOT!). Also Daysia is still in mourning over the Little Mix drama and really just wants to be able to see them on tour in the U.S.
(Yes, we realize a little bit of deja vu with last week’s letter but we hope you enjoy it!)

This Week's Fixations
Daysia: I’ve been devastated all week! The fallout from Jesy Nelson’s “BOYZ” release had Mixers reeling. I love Little Mix so much and it pains me that Nelson has been so disrespectful of her ex-bandmates, particularly Leigh-Anne Pinnock, in response to the blackfishing backlash from her debut. Nelson’s anti-bullying brand feels disingenuous after that Instagram Live, and it feels like she’s using Nicki Minaj and the Barbz to shield herself from the valid criticism she’s received.
Pinnock previously tried explaining to Nelson why blackfishing was wrong (which she shouldn't have to do, as Grazia's Georgia Aspinall wrote) and she apparently did not take it to heart. Disappointing.
At least, there’s new Little Mix songs in the works, including their already-teased “Cut You Off” (convenient timing!). I’m looking forward to their greatest hits album Between Us, and the new songs that come with it. And I’m hoping this drama will, at least, get more Americans into the band so that they can come tour here! I’M BEGGING.
Hannah: Okay, cue up Nicholas Brittell’s “Succession - Main Theme” and put it on repeat because we are diving into all of the coverage. The media blitz has been happening and I don’t really think they had to go this hard because we have all been counting down the days but I am here for this content.
First, let’s take a moment to talk about how the season three premiere was held at the American Museum of Natural History, in an event that, dare I say, rivaled the Met Gala. They even had the stars do the little videos among the museum.
Make a move.

I also couldn’t help but wonder if this venue was chosen because there are dinosaurs there and who can forget this iconic Shiv moment:
He's good, right? He's great. I think I'm a little more aggressive. Sometimes I think you just need a good old fashioned dinosaur cull.

Now a round-up of the coverage:
I bow to the genius that is J. Smith Cameron’s portrayal of Gerri and loved this interview with her in The Los Angeles Times by Meredith Blake.
In Variety, Jess Armstrong, the creator of this mad show, talks with Kate Arthur about writing season three: “There’s a certain amount of post-traumatic stress in America about the possibilities of what could have happened, and what people still feel did happen. So I think this show has been formed by the Trump era.”
Mr. Darc—oh, I’m sorry I mean Matthew Macfadyen tells WWD’s Leigh Nordstrom how playing Tom is “therapy” for him.
Here are some more photos of and interview with one of Hollywood's tallest men Nicholas Braun, who plays fan favorite Cousin Greg in SHARP magazine (article by Max Mertens).
Finally, one of my absolute favorite writers Sophie Gilbert on how season three stacks up to season two.
Has Lorde Dropped a New Album?
Lorde and David Byrne, in conversation, for Rolling Stone's Musicians on Musicians issue.
Growing up in New Zealand, Lorde had her mind blown by an early Talking Heads performance she saw online. "I had never seen anything like that in my life," she tells Byrne. "You didn’t blink for a minute." rollingstone.com/music/music-fe…

ICYMI: ADELE IS BACK! “Easy on Me” is hard on us… it’ll leave you spiraling! Happy divorce album autumn!
Too Many Tabs
Matthew Goldstein and Katherine Rosman dove into Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi's made-for-TV legal trouble for the New York Times.
Kumail Nanjiani talked to Vulture's E. Alex Jung about body image and the feelings brought on by the wave of attention he received for bulking up.
Ben Affleck's greatest roles is as tabloid fodder, Vulture's Alison Willmore wrote.
Plus... it's okay to gossip about John Mulaney, Penn Badgley's visibility, Beanie Feldstein doesn't know this woman, what went into making Mac Miller’s Faces, the celeb pregnancy announcement that’s so good it’s bad, Adele’s beginning, Noah Reid’s new Broadway role, and Olivia Rodrigo and Alanis Morissette in conversation.
