Daysia: My biggest wish for 2022 is for Britney Spears to have peace. After many years of abuse under her conservatorship, she deserves that much! Unfortunately, Miss Jamie Lynn Spears has decided against the smartest thing she could do right now: Leave Britney alone! Now Jamie Lynn has forced Britney’s hand.

Jamie Lynn has been on quite the press tour for her new memoir Things I Should Have Said, and I don’t think it’s faring how she thought it would. From an ill-received Good Morning America appearance to… a tell-all on Call Her Daddy (which I refuse to listen to, at risk of ruining my Spotify podcast recommendations), Jamie Lynn is solidifying her villain arc. I won’t be reading her book, but I will be listening to the Celebrity Memoir Book Club episode about it next week so… I’ll report back. If the news that’s come out of this launch is any indicator of the actual book, I don't think it’ll be good!

Hannah: In this week’s edition of “are the celebs okay??” (also known as “stars they are not like us!”), I give you this detail about Megan Fox’s engagement ring that was designed by Machine Gun Kelly:

I just… I don’t have words. I literally can’t think of anything more impractical? Like there are so many innocuous reasons that someone might have to take their engagement ring off (especially one that reportedly is estimated to be worth $400,000!).

I don’t really have the desire to unpack all the implications and connotations of this detail. I think if you know even the vaguest details about Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s relationship (“I am weed,” the blood-drinking, etc.) then this shouldn’t really come as a surprise. It’s hard to tell sometimes if this is legit or just a never-ending bit. Either way, it’s a success since they are pretty much always in the news cycle since they got together.

In any case, I feel like it will go down in pop culture history as one of the more memorable jewelry moments. Other contenders are: when Kylie Jenner documented on Snapchat security at a Cartier counter trying to pry off one of their infamous Love bracelets; Kim Kardashian losing a $75,000 earring while in Bora Bora; and when Ariana Grande revealed her engagement ring on Instagram.

But hey: “Love is pain!”
